Terms of service
In effect from August 10, 2026
These terms are written in plain language on purpose. They are the deal between you and Earlyworks when you browse the site, create an account, or pay for a subscription.
What Earlyworks is
Earlyworks collects public construction records that cities already publish: permits, rezonings, development applications and the documents attached to them. It organizes those records so contractors and suppliers can see concrete work coming before the bid lists are full.
Two kinds of information appear in the app. Facts are shown as the city recorded them, with a link to the city's own record. Assessments, such as whether a project looks like concrete-frame work, are Earlyworks' reading of those facts and are labelled as assessments with their reasoning shown.
Your account
A subscription covers one company. Your sign-in is for you and the people who work at your company, not for sharing outside it. Keep your password private, and tell Earlyworks if you think someone else has it.
Fair use
Read as much as you like. A few things are not allowed, and they are the reasons the service can stay affordable:
- No scraping, crawling or bulk downloading of member content.
- No reselling, republishing or feeding Earlyworks content into another product or database.
- Member accounts have a daily limit on how many project files they can open. It is set well above what a working estimator uses in a day.
- Drawings and documents stay on the cities' own servers. Earlyworks links to them and displays them, and the copyright in every drawing belongs to its authors. Use them for evaluating and bidding work, the purpose the city published them for.
Breaking these rules ends the account, without a refund for the month in progress.
Paying, cancelling and the founding rate
- Subscriptions bill monthly through Stripe and you can cancel any time. Cancelling stops the next bill; the current month runs to its end.
- New subscriptions start with a free trial, shown at checkout. Cancel during the trial and you pay nothing.
- The founding rate stays locked for as long as your subscription stays active. If it lapses and you come back later, the current rate applies.
- If something went wrong with a charge, email and it gets sorted.
The data and where it comes from
Every project names its source and links to the original record. The city data behind Earlyworks is published under open government licences that permit commercial use with attribution. What Earlyworks does not promise
The service is provided as it is, without a warranty that it is complete, current or error-free. City feeds break, records lag, and assessments can miss. If Earlyworks is ever found liable to you for something connected to the service, that liability is limited to the amount you paid in the three months before the problem. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, subscribers get an email before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Earlyworks after that is acceptance of the new terms.
